Links that know
where they belong.

Every browser with profiles has the same hole in it: a link clicked in a chat app opens in whichever profile happens to be on screen. You notice when the page loads signed in as the wrong person. Nimbus pins a site to a profile, and routes to it.

A more specific host wins, so google.com can point one way while mail.google.com points another. And routing never opens a locked profile — the link waits for the passcode.

Real translucency

The Windows 11 acrylic material, sampling your actual desktop — including whatever app is sitting behind the window, not a screenshot of your wallpaper. It survives filling the screen, and it survives filling the screen.

Profiles that actually separate

Each profile is a browser of its own: separate cookies, storage, cache and logins. Sign into the same site twice, as two people, at once.

Locked profiles

Give a profile a passcode and it asks before opening. Stored as a salted scrypt hash and compared in constant time — the passcode itself is never written down.

The command palette is the interface

⌘K opens everything: navigate, switch tabs, jump to a shortcut, reopen something you closed, inject your own CSS. There is no address bar — click the tab you are already on to edit its URL in place.

Sessions that come back

Every profile remembers its own tabs. Switch profile and the tabs switch with it; reopen Nimbus and you are where you left off.

Private tabs, visibly private

A private tab browses in an in-memory session — nothing it does is written to disk. The tab strip changes colour so you can tell at a glance which mode you are in.

Bookmarks and a rail you own

Shortcuts and bookmarks are per profile, and both are drag-to-reorder, renameable and removable. Work's rail is not Personal's rail.

Saved images arrive as PNG

WebP, AVIF, BMP and still GIFs are rewritten to PNG on the way to disk, judged by their actual bytes rather than the extension. Animated files and photos are left alone.

Profile pictures you frame yourself

Pick a picture, then drag and zoom it inside the circle. What you see in the ring is exactly what gets saved — no automatic centre-crop deciding it for you.
